Dyslipidemia Causes Erectile Dysfunction

Dyslipidemia is the disease caused by the excessive amount of lipids in the body. The most Dyslipidemia observed in the world are Hyperlipidemias that is caused by an elevation of lipids in the blood. The prolonged elevation of lipids in the blood leads to the Dyslipidemia. Previously, Dyslipidemia was linked to the many diseases like heart disorders, blood pressure, diabetes, etc., but according to the latest research Dyslipidemia is linked to the erectile dysfunction. About 65% men in the world are suffering with erectile dysfunction and amongst them about 20% men are dyslipidemic.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common condition in which men are unable to attain the erection or sustain the erection for the sufficient amount of time during the sexual copulation. Erectile dysfunction has a significant effect on quality of life. The prevalence of erectile dysfunction increases with age and other risk factors (hypertension, diabetes, smoking, coronary heart disease, and depression). The new disease that is found to responsible for the erectile dysfunction in men is Dyslipidemia. Nitric oxide (NO) activity is adversely affected, in penile and vascular tissue, by these risk factors. Endothelial dysfunction and a reduced generation or bioavailability of NO has emerged as major pathophysiological mechanisms in erectile dysfunction.

Scientists conducted a study in which they studied the group of 250 dyslipidemic men in the age group of 20 to 30 years. All the men in the study were put for the questionnaire regarding their sex life. The study revealed that around 150 dyslipidemic men were suffering from the erectile dysfunction. Some men were having the problems in getting the erection where some were having the problems in maintaining the erection for the ample duration during the sexual intercourse. Thus, it was clear from the study that Dyslipidemia is linked to erectile dysfunction.

The men suffering for the Dyslipidemia and erectile dysfunction were treated for the reduction of lipids in their body for one month. Once the level of lipids in the body was maintained all the men were able to get the erection and sustain the erection all through the sexual copulation. Thus, it was clear that Dyslipidemia caused erectile dysfunction in these men.

Dyslipidemia impairs erectile function by affecting endothelial and smooth muscle cells of the penis. Oxidized low-density lipoprotein is a causative factor for the impaired relaxation response of the corpus cavernosum. Elevated serum cholesterol and reduced high density lipoprotein cholesterol levels are associated with an increased risk of erectile dysfunction. When the less amount of blood is supplied to the penis and men suffer from the erectile dysfunction.

The men who were still not able to get the erection even after the treatment for Dyslipidemia were then given the drugs like Kamagra, Apcalis, or generic Levitra. These drugs are phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors that increase the blood supply to the penis during the sexual intercourse and are now considered as first line treatment for erectile dysfunction. The safety and efficacy of Kamagra is tested for the dyslipidemic men and is found to best in the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
